A close up of the museum's ball. I'm not sure when they made this ball, but it's been a Noon Year's staple for years. The kids love to get to see a ball drop since most of them can't stay up late enough to watch the big one in New York.
After a long day at the museum. For your information we did break the record of visitors, this year we had 3,092 visitors. It was quite a clean up as I predicted, but thankfully we had lots of volunteers. I'm still not feeling up to par, so after work I hitched a ride home to take another relaxing bath and rest until Jesse came home. I was so glad that we closed 2 hours early. Jesse worked a long day and went straight to his Ideal Father's practice after. This gave me lots of time to relax and I enjoyed every minute of it. Around 10:30 we headed over to a friends house for a small gathering of people from our neck of the woods. 7minutes until mid-night (it was a beautiful night) we were standing in the backyard with our friend Tenille and some other people who I just met.
Jesse: What time is it?
Me: 7 till
Jesse: I have to pee. I probably won't be able to make it in through the crowd, to the bathroom and back in time. Huh?
Me: I don't know probably not.
Jesse: Ah there's probably a line. I'll wait. I will pop this champagne for you guys and then I'm going in.
Me: Ok
a few minutes later...
Jesse: What time is it now?
Me: 2 till
Jesse: Oh that's plenty of time. (he proceeds to hand me the bottle and run off)
The Crowd: 10, 9, 8
Me: Jesse's going to spend New Years in the bathroom
Tenille: Pretty Much
The Crowd: 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 Happy New Year!
Me: I knew it. ( I take a sip of the champagne someone poured me as I see the gate to the back fence come flying open and Jesse is sprinting towards me for a kiss)
Jesse: I'm here
Me: It's too late now it's 12:02. You spent New Years alone in a bathroom while I was in a backyard with Tenille and some strangers.
Jesse: I'm here now.
Me: I guess that's better than you disappearing.
All is not lost we kiss and say Happy New Year!
HAPPY NEW YEARS! Everyone we hope you had a great beginning to your 2009 and that you got to spend it with someone you love.
