Party Pics from May 22, 2010...

Setting up for the party.

Misc. Party Pictures. Mainly from the church hall, but the last few are from the after party @ Grandma & Grandpa's house.

Orlin's 80th...

May 19th among other things was Jesse's Grandpa Smith's 80th Birthday.
This is why we packed up and headed to Utah for a 5 day trip. Most of the family was able to come down and help Grandpa celebrate the big day. Grandma and Aunt Kathy planned a party for that Saturday. There were around 200 expected to come over a 2hr time slot. Jesse & I helped make mint & nut cups, set up the party, decorate, make food, and clean up. It was a lot of work for everyone, but the party was definitely a great success. After the party was over just the family (around 40 people) stayed to have dinner & do family photos. Oh and in case you missed it there was an engagement too. Jesse and I got engaged at his grandfather's birthday party on what would have been my grandmother's birthday. Sort of fitting I think. Coincidentally my parent's wedding anniversary is also May 19th which like I said is Orlin's actual birthday. Jesse told me he thought I might want to get married next May sometime since it's such a special time for my family. If I've never mentioned it before May is a crazy time with lots of birthdays, anniversarys, graduations, etc... My response to that... Is it Ok if I don't want to have it in May, because there is too much going on? We've decided we're going to do it in September of next year instead. No more details yet, but we'll make sure to keep you all posted. Thank you so much to all of Jesse's family for throwing such a great party and for keeping such a big secret from me.

 The Birthday Announcement.
This announcement ran in the paper the week of his birthday just before the party. It says it was a surprise party, but it really wasn't because well he had a house full of people and the paper spoiled the beans. Jesse and I both found this history of grandpa to be quite interesting. He's lead quite a life.

We took tons of pictures from the party and even borrowed some from Jesse's sister-in-law and cousin which I will post later.

Adventures in Utah...

Uncle Jesse and Aiden decorating grandma & grandpa's driveway.

Jesse & Jared playing basketball.

Aiden playing with Uncle Jesse.

The Hunsaker men and Nasia playing in grandma's backyard.

Brittani, Aiden, Jared, and me visiting Nasia's author night @ school. She read us a book that her class wrote together and showed us some things she wrote on her own
(like the poems pictures above).

Going for a walk. Every day we were in Utah Jesse and I went for a walk. On this particular occasion his niece Nasia and his cousin Kaylee decided to join us.
The views in Ogden are quite beautiful.

Boulder Videos...

Here are the videos as promised...
Don't forget that you want to listen to them with your speaker levels on low. They aren't the best quality videos, but I'm sure you can get the picture. It was an energetic show and the crowd was loving it. Jesse went all out and thus slept all day Saturday from lack of energy.  ENJOY!

The results are in...

Earlier this month I posted about the 9 Health Fair that Jesse and I attended in Golden. Well our results are finally in. All my levels are normal as can be or better than normal. Jesse has a lower level of good Cholesterol (HDL) and a slightly higher level of Alkaline Phosphate, but neither one is off by too much so we aren't worried. I will however have him take his results in to the doctor with him for his next check up just to be safe. I really think the Health Fair had a big impact on us. We weren't really eating poorly before, but there is always room for improvement and so we've been improving. We eat more fruits and veggies than we did before. We used to be on the lower level of suggested intake, but now we are bordering the top level. We've also started cooking with coconut oil, buying more locally grown products, and stepping up our exercise routines. Before our exercise was minimal to say the least, but now that Jesse has his new bike we've been riding everywhere. He even road it the 10miles to work and back while I was out of town last week. They have another Health Fair in the fall and hopefully when we go to that one we will see improved results on our next read out.
