Jesse's new love...

Yes that is a 27" monitor iMac computer you are looking at. He's so in love that he bought a bulk pack of screen cleaning wipes, a special mouse pad made of 50% recycled materials, and a keyboard cover for the precious white keys. When it came in the mail he came home early from work and set it up in no time flat. The mouse is actually a wireless smart mouse or magic mouse or something like that. It's crazy! It's really easy to use, but it might take me a while to get used to it. That is if Jesse will ever let me close enough to touch it
Oh and did I mention that it came with an...

8gig iPOD touch. Oh yes! It came for free with his big purchase and he couldn't be more thrilled. He really wants to play with it, but he's being strong and not opening it until he gets the rebate in the mail (otherwise it's not free & he doesn't want it). As long as the rebate stuff comes next week he is golden and that means I get his old iPOD, which is fine by me since I've never actually had one before. I've kind of let music fall off my radar since portable cd players went out of fashion a few years back. We don't have a radio, I rarely drive in the car, and I don't have an iPOD, so new music is foreign to me. This makes me sound like an old fuddy duddy. Jeesh! I guess now that I've got my own iPOD I better get back into the music game. Anybody have any suggestions of songs or artists I should listen to?

We are also making our own play list of songs for the wedding reception if anyone has suggestions for that we're all ears. Thanks!

Etsy.com...

For those of you who haven't heard of this magical website etsy.com you really should check it out. It's online shopping for crafts and cool vintage finds. It's also a great way for artists and crafters to get there work out there and start selling it to make a little extra cash. Jesse and I have been discussing pooling our creative talents and starting an etsy page of our own. As of yet we haven't done anything more than discuss it, but I'm hoping someday soon we get right to it. I have been browsing etsy for quite some time now, but only made my 1st purchase a couple weeks ago. I normally just peruse the stock to get ideas for my own creative endeavors. I've been searching through the wedding pages to get ideas on making my own bouquet, hair piece, invitations, etc... I'm even looking into buying Jesse's wedding ring through one of the sellers. They make gorgeous metal and wood combination rings that we both just love. The other day I finally broke down and bought two items and I couldn't be happier, so I thought I would share them with all of you.

Custom Stamp
I had this stamp custom made for our big day. We figured we can use it on invitations, thank you cards, & programs. I also suggested that one day down the road when we have kids we can get it out and let them stamp it all over their craft paper. Kids love stamping and so do I really. My mom suggested that we could keep it forever and when we celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary our kids can use it on the invitations. Somebody sure is thinking pretty far ahead. For now it's just going to be for the invitations, but apparently the possibilities are endless. I think it was well worth the $25.

Peacock Pendant
I saw this pendant and just fell in love with it. I knew it would make the perfect necklace to match our subtle theme with (have you guessed yet?) peacocks. I went to Hobby Lobby today and picked up a chain and ring to attach it with. I adjusted the chain and there you have it a necklace. For around $8 I made my own one of a kind necklace for my wedding. I love it! It's a really big pendant too. I believe it's 2 & 1/2 inches long.

The peacock theme seems not so subtle with what I showed you, but honestly it will be. We really just want to use greens & blues as our colors and what better way than with beautiful peacock feathers. I'm going to be making my own head piece with a few feathers and a few might show up in my bouquet and the guys boutonnieres too, but that's about it. Nothing over the top, because we are not fancy people. Obviously, I mean I only spent $8 on the necklace I'm planning to wear for my wedding. We're more the creative do it yourself type of people.

Dollar Store...

These are probably the best things I've ever found at the Dollar Store. Two superhero water toys and Yes they were just $1 each. They were obviously a big hit with Denton today too. I had originally thought I would keep them and share them between the two boy's houses, but I ended up leaving them with Denton and decided I would go buy more for Henry. Why not? I mean they were only $1. I love it! So much fun on a hot day.

Dye job...

The dress I'm wearing in the previous post is a dress I scored at the Arc Thrift Store up the road a couple weeks ago. It cost me $12 and it was white when I bought it. Since I'm incredibly pale skinned I knew I needed to dye the dress, besides I love dying clothes and it's been a while since I've done so. Today was unbearably hot today, a record high of 101 I believe. The only good thing about this is that when I hung the dress out on the patio to dry after dying it, it dried in less than 20 minutes. No Joke! I dyed the dress at 2:30 and was wearing it out to dinner the same night. I used regular old Rit Dye which was harder to find than I thought it would be. I've been looking into how to do homemade natural dyes, but decided I was a little too impatient to try something new today. I think I'm going to try it out sometime soon, though. I'll probably start small with some bandannas or something. I'll keep you all posted on the results. Anyhow the point is dying fabric can be really fun. I love buying white clothes and then dying them to suit me. It's a great way to make an item of clothing unique.

The finished product.
I wish I would have taken a picture of it when it was white.

3yrs...

It was just over 3yrs ago that Jesse called me up and asked me if I wanted to hang out just the 2 of us for the first time. Of course I said yes and the rest is history. The thing is neither of us remembers the exact date. Thankfully before we know it we'll have an actual anniversary date that should be easy to remember. For now though we have decided that July 14th is our sort of anniversary. Since this week was a super busy week for us we decided to go out over the weekend to celebrate. We went to Mezcal, a mexi/south western restaurant that we happened upon a few weeks back when Ideal Father's played at Lost Lake just down the road. The food was super good the first time we went and sadly only ok this time. I will say that the food seemed quite a bit spicier this time and I'm sure my Wilson stomach will be killing me later, but I enjoyed it while we were there.

 Dinner date July 2010

Denton's 3rd...

One of the boys I nanny for regularly celebrated his 3rd birthday last weekend in the park. Jesse and I were both invited. There were sand toys, squirt animals (instead of guns they were water animals), side walk chalk, a Buzz Lightyear Bubble Machine, delicious cake, and lots of yummy food. There was a great turn out even Batman (Denton's favorite Superhero) showed up. I didn't snap any pictures when Batman was running around, unfortunately, but I did get a few of the yummy cake.

Denton and his mom Myrna. We were singing Happy Birthday to him.

Blowing out the candles and making a wish.

Licking the frosting off the dinosaur from his cake. Triceratops are his favorite kind of dinosaurs. He was completely thrilled.

Denton laughing on the tube slide at the park.
This picture obviously wasn't taken at his party. Denton and I spend a lot of time at the park he had his party at, it's one of our favorite hang outs. While we were playing at the park one day I brought my camera and snapped quite a few cute pictures. This one was my favorite. I just hand to frame it and give it to his mom on his birthday. He's laughing so hard in the pictures it almost looks like he's screaming. I love it, so did everyone else.

Pink Pants...

Pictures from the July 3rd show @ Larimer Lounge.

Sorry, It's been a while since I've posted. These are obviously old pictures. I have video too, but no time to upload it at the moment. I might try updating this post with video later. The lighting at the show made Jesse pants look pink and in the video I shot it looks like his pants are spontaneously combusting. Pretty funny!
