Iowa Cubs...

For those of you who don't know Iowa has a minor league baseball team called the Iowa Cubs. Going to a game every year is sort of a summer tradition. My friend Kasi knew Jesse and I were coming back, so they invited us to go. Jesse was busy with brother time, so I enlisted my cousin Logan as a date. It was really hot out, so we spent most of our time in the fountain where Kasi's daughter splashed around and Logan and I wet our hair down. We had great seats and when we left the Cubbies were winning. I really enjoyed myself. Thanks Kasi, Bo, and Teagan for inviting us.

Teagan just loved Logan. She insisted on setting in his lap and caressing his face while babbling to him. It was soooo cute.
Contrary to the seriousness on Logan's face he did enjoy himself.

Iowa...

We arrived in Iowa late Friday evening. Jared and Jesse quickly made plans to go fishing with my dad and his friend the next morning. I don't have any pictures unfortunately, because girls were not allowed and I was spending the day with my mom. Sorry! :( For lunch on Saturday we hit up the Menlo Cafe with my aunt and grandma for the most fabulous pork tenderloin sandwich you will ever eat. Yum! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Saturday evening I went out with my friend and her family to an Iowa Cubs baseball game. My cousin Logan was my date since Jesse and Jared were having brother time. My brother managed to make it back from his Worlds of Fun Trip just in time to hang out with the boys. I hope he showed them a good time. Since I wasn't there I also missed out on pictures of that. Sorry again! :( On Sunday my mom and I prepared brunch and invited some family over to visit. We picnicked in the front yard, ate good food, and enjoyed visiting all morning. We even got my brother to give us a tour of my grandparents old house. Dave is buying their farm and fixing it up. Sunday afternoon we packed up and started our journey back to Witchita. We got in late, but we still managed to have some more fun with Aiden before bed time. On Monday morning Jesse and I got up extra early and hit the road. We were back in Denver by 1:30pm. Plenty of time to rest before heading back to work on Tuesday. Wish our trip could have been longer. It was a whirl wind, but we sure enjoyed it.

Aiden...

While Jared was taking a test on Friday we went to breakfast with his wife and son. The following pictures are a few snap shots of Aiden being silly at breakfast.

He sure is getting big. He's grown, so much from the first time we met him in person last September.

Road Trip...

Over the weekend Jesse and I had ourselves a nice long road trip. Jesse planned on coming to Iowa to fix my mom's computer for her and set her up with wireless internet. At the last minute we decided we would take the scenic route through Kansas to visit Jesse's brother Jared. We ended up picking Jared up and taking him with us for the weekend. The next few posts will be random pictures from our trip.
It was great getting to see everyone and we hop Jared had a great time with us, because we had a great time with him.

Jared posing with the largest piece of beef jerky any of us had ever seen and a giant Monster Engery drink.  Sadly this is the only pictures I took on the road. I believe we were at some random gas station in Kansas somewhere.
*Note - He actually bought the jerky and ate it all. We'll be vacuuming pepper out of our car for months.

House/Petsitting...

A neighbor of one of the families I nanny for has asked me to house sit for them intermittenly over the next couple months. A few weeks ago I spent my first weekend in their gorgeous house. It was easy as pie and I made a little extra money. Jesse even came over to help me out when he heard they had a dog.

This is May Rose, the pampered pooch.

This is Miss May's favorite spot to sit and spy on the neighbor's cats.

May is a really good dog, but she seemed to like Jesse way more than me. She would get so excited when he would come over and she never wanted him to leave. They wore each other out playing. It was fun to watch. I will be watching Miss May again starting Wednesday of next week, but this time it will be for 10 whole days. Hopefully things run smoothly during this stay as well. I have been given permission to take her to doggie daycare a few days for my own sanity and so she can socialize with her friends. This should be interesting. Wish us luck!

UMS, 2010...

For this year's Denver Post Underground Music Showcase the guys moved their way up in the polls. Yeah that's right this year I forgot to remind all of you to go online and vote, but the guys still managed to move their way up to #33. Here are a few pictures and videos from the Ideal Father's show on the outdoor stage this past Friday.

Rocking the UMS stage... literally. from Erin Wilson on Vimeo.
Please note the duct tape on the skinny silver polls holding up the stage. Proving once again that Duct Tape really is the handy man's best weapon. Shannon, Joel, and I were convinced that the guys would bring the stage down and we were going to either be crushed by the falling truck or we would have to catch the guys as they came crashing down. Duct tape proved us wrong this time. Thankfully.

New Song... Untitled from Erin Wilson on Vimeo.
This is a random minute long new song the guys came up with on the fly at practice about 2 weeks ago now. Apparently Jesse had some dream about them writing a new song, so he was telling the guys about it and they started goofing around and this is what they came up with. Its not much for now, but it sure had them all excited. I think they've been stuck in a song writing rut and this is just the thing to get them back into the groove of things.

This video is of their last and final song at the show. Jesse decided the duct tape stage just wasn't enough room for him to move around on.
